The College of Surgeons embraces a mission to uphold a high level of surgical standard for the best patient safety. To maximize learning opportunities for our young surgeons while minimizing the risks to patients, we have recognized the great potentials of

incorporating simulation concepts and technologies in surgical training. With this imminent need ahead, the College of Surgeons has set up a Task Force on Simulation in Surgical Training in 2010 to develop and devise simulation-based programme to our trainees. Acute Abdomen is the first step of launching the program and the Anatomy Workshop in Acute Abdomen which collaborated with the School of Biomedical Science of the University of Hong Kong was held in 2012, 2015 - 2019. In

2020, a new VR session is introduced which can deliver a better learning outcome.

Further to the success of the workshop, I am pleased to inform you that the next Anatomy Workshop in Acute Abdomen which again cooperates with the School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Hong Kong for the Basic Surgical Trainees will be held on 18 February 2023 (Sat), the workshop details in below:

Date  : 18 February 2023 (Saturday)

Time : 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Venue : Anatomy Lab. Room L1-01, 1/F, Lab. Block, Faculty of Medicine Bldg., 21 Sassoon Road, HKU

Target Audience : Basic Surgical Trainees (limited places)

The application starts now and will be ended on 8 February 2023 (Fri). Enclosed please find the poster and application form for your information.
